- Seville will host the 10th anniversary of the mediterranean regional and local assembly -

The Euro-Mediterranean Regional and Local Assembly (ARLEM) will celebrate its 10th anniversary in Seville next February 2019.

Created in 2010 by the European Committee of the Regions it is made up of 80 members; half are representatives of the European Union and the other half of the countries of the Mediterranean Arc, from Mauritania to Turkey.

The aim of the committee is to allow political and non-governmental organizations from the countries surrounding the Mediterranean Sea to engage in a dialogue that favors interregional cooperation and generates wealth in the Mediterranean. Some 200 representatives are expected to attend the plenary session.

The excellent mayor of Seville, Juan Espadas, has personally held several meetings with the Committee of Regions and Cities, to ensure that this meeting is held in the city of Seville, which will celebrate in 2019 a special year with the fifth centenary of the Magellan circumnavigation: The First voyage around the world.
